Leinster’s Fergus McFadden has been cited for an alleged dangerous tackle during his side’s 30-23 win over Edinburgh on Friday night.

McFadden stopped Damien Hoyland in his tracks with a high tackle in the 38th minute of the game.

The winger was lucky not to be sent off and, on looking back at the evidence, the independent citing commissioner has decided that the 29-year-old is to face a disciplinary hearing later this week.

McFadden escaped even a yellow card when referee Marius Mitrea awarded no more than a penalty.
