Leinster forwards coach Jonno Gibbes will leave the province at the end of the season to take up a similar position at Clermont Auvergne.

With the current Clermont coach Vern Cotter due to depart for Scotland next summer, Gibbes will work alongside backs coach Franck Azema on a new management team.

Leinster are expected to confirm Gibbes’s departure after tonight’s Rabo Pro12 meeting at home to Cardiff.

The former All Black arrived at Leinster when Michael Cheika was coach and was with the team through three Heineken Cup wins, one under the Australian and two under his successor and current Ireland coach Joe Schmidt, who joined Leinster from Clermont.

Cotter announced that he will be leaving the French club at the end of the season to take up a coaching job with Scotland.
