Rugby:The Ireland Under-18 Schools team to take part in the opening game of the FIRA/ AER Under-18 European championship against Portugal in Madrid has been named.

Ireland will play in Ciudad Universitaria, Madrid tomorrow (11.15, Irish time). The winner will progress to a semi-final where they will face either France or Scotland. Ireland are defending the title which they won last year in France and go into the game on the back of a 25-12 warm-up win over Scotland last weekend.

St. Michaels flanker Daniel Leavy has been named as tournament captain. Three players named in the original squad have withdrawn, Benjamin Alexander, Saba Meunargia and Rory O’Farrell. They are replaced by Darragh Moloney, Stephen O’Neill and Aidan Slattery.
