Ireland and Lions star Tadhg Furlong has signed a new three-year deal with the IRFU until 2025.
The 29-year-old Leinster tighthead earned his 50th Ireland cap in the recent 60-5 thrashing of Japan, and played a pivotal role in all three November Test match victories.
Furlong started all three Lions Tests on the summer tour to South Africa, having also started in all three Tests during the drawn 2017 series in New Zealand.
He has become one of the most important players in Andy Farrell’s Ireland set-up, with his strength at the set-piece and up front matched by his ball skills and ability to link the play.

On signing his new deal, Furlong said: “November was a really positive block for the Ireland squad and it was great to have supporters back in the stadium. Ireland and Leinster have started the season well and both squads will be aiming for silverware again this season.”
Meanwhile IRFU performance director Davivd Nucifora said: “Tadhg has again illustrated his pedigree as one of the best tightheads in world rugby.
“His performances for Ireland and the British and Irish Lions in the past year have been top drawer and we are delighted that he has extended his contract to the end of the 2024/25 season.”
