Former Ireland, Lions captain Dawson honoured by IRB

The hooker will be inducted to Hall of Fame next month

Ronnie Dawson, who won 27 caps for Ireland at hooker and led the British & Irish Lions on the 1959 tour to New Zealand, Australia and Canada, has been inducted in the IRB Hall of Fame, along with 10 others players under the theme that links the Lions and Australia.

Taking place in the Aviva stadium on November 18th, Dawson will be honoured alongside Australians Thomas Lawton Snr, John Thornett, Ken Catchpole, Mark Ella, David Campese and George Gregan. The other five inductees are Robert Seddon and the 1988 British team, David Bedell-Sivright, Bleddyn Williams and Jack Matthews and Gavin Hastings.
