Newport Gwent Dragons Adam Black has been handed a three-week ban for the red card  he received in the Celtic League match with Ulster last weekend.

The prop was spotted striking Ulster tighthead prop Declan Fitzpatrick in the head with his knee at a ruck and was immediately dismissed by referee Nigel Owens.

A disciplinary hearing of the WRU held yesterday ruled the offence was at the lower end of the IRB scale and banned Black for three weeks. And with the Six Nations, in which he is not involved, resuming this weekend, Black will miss just one Celtic League match.
