Connacht's Adrian Flavin has escaped punishment after an IRFU disciplinary hearing in Dublin last night examined an alleged incident of stamping when playing against the Ospreys in the Magners Celtic League.

"After considering all of the available evidence, the disciplinary panel decided that the citing complaint against Adrian Flavin was justified," the IRFU hearing said of the citing.

"However, it was felt by the panel that while the citing was justified the incident itself did not warrant a red card and therefore no sanction was imposed upon the player."

The verdict means Flavin is free to continue playing.
