Squad News: Following last weekend's surprise defeat to Connacht in the Magners League, Leinster coach Michael Chieka has recalled a number of international stars to his squad in the hope of turning things around in this weekend's Heineken Cup opener against Edinburgh.
Cheika has named a list of Irish internationals including, Girvan Dempsey, Jamie Heaslip, Bernard Jackman, Shane Jennings, Brian O'Driscoll and Malcolm O'Kelly.
Shane Horgan, Leinster's most capped Heineken Cup player (63), is also included in the squad after impressing in recent weeks, while Felipe Contepomi gets the chance to build on his tally of 284 points in 24 appearances in Europe for Leinster.
After a promising start to the season, Leinster have now lost their last two and are still smarting following their humbling experience at the Sportsground.
"Losing is never a pleasant experience, and certainly not two weeks in a row," explained forwards coach Johno Gibbes today. "Maybe some of the mistakes were repeated which is disappointing.
"You could bounce cliches around and say that 'losing was the wake-up call that we needed' and all that sort of stuff, but the reality is that we lost two weeks in a row and they hurt. It's going to be quite painful looking through that stuff, but we're moving on and moving forward.
"They are not major issues, but it's about nailing a couple of little things which can have a domino effect. In the game of rugby there are a whole heap of little details that it takes to get the ball across the line."
Cheika is due to name his starting line-up at lunchtime on Friday. Saturday's kick-off at Murrayfield is 1.35pm.
Scotland and Edinburgh winger Chris Paterson, meanwhile, has been passed fit after overcoming the ankle injury that kept him sidelined last weekend.
Edinburgh have won just once in five Magners League matches this season but coach Andy Robinson expects his side to up the ante at Murrayfield.
"This is a step-up from the Magners League and we have to step up at least two or three notches," said Robinson. "We can't hide away from it - this is a key game for us and you've got to win your home matches. We have Leinster at home and we've got to get out there and perform."
