New Zealand 60 Fiji 14:New Zealand warmed up for the forthcoming Tri-Nations series with a crushing 60-14 win over Fiji in bitterly cold Carisbrook.
Colin Slade, on his full debut, booted the Blacks into an early lead, before Sitveni Sivivatu flew over in the corner after some sustained early pressure.
The impressive Slade slotted another penalty before the fly-half benefited from a kind bounce off the post to gather up his own kick and score under the posts.
More slick passing saw Andrew Hore rumble over out wide and Slade again added the extras to put the hosts 25-0 up before Adam Thomson burrowed over after Richie McCaw had been held up.
The Fijians finally got on the board on 52, Nemia Serelevu finishing it off after a lung-bursting 50m run from No 8 Matadigo as the All Blacks lost momentum.
Conrad Smith then raced onto Piri Weepu's grubber for the Kiwis fifth try and Weepu helped himself to five points after he was set up by Ben Smith to extend the lead to 46-7.
Vereniki Goneva showed some great football skills to notch a second try for the Islanders but the Black juggernaut had the final say with a penalty try and Mils Muliainia's touchdown.
