Shamrock Rovers 0 Bray W 0:SHAMROCK ROVERS' current spell of poor form continued at Tallaght Stadium last night with Stephen Kenny's side being held to a draw by Bray Wanderers.
Kenny and his team will feel bitterly disappointed to only take a point from this game, having dominated for large periods and done everything but score.
Bray will be pleased with their reward and it was they who had the first chance of an entertaining game in Dublin 24.
That came on nine minutes when the ball was fed to Adam Hanlon deep on the right wing. He beat his marker and was given too much time by the Rovers defence to set up his shot, but when he did unleash his low drive he directed it the wrong side of the left-hand post.
Ronan Finn then went close for Rovers on 16 minutes with a shot from 30 yards out that was blocked by Bray goalkeeper Darren Quigley.
Rovers were dominating now and another chance came their way in the third minute of first-half injury time when Dennehy whipped a cross in from the left which fell perfectly for Gary O’Neill. But with Bray defender Adam Mitchell in close proximity to him, O’Neill headed wide.
Gary McCabe replaced Kavanagh on 61 minutes and within a minute of his introduction smashed a cracking low shot on target but Quigley saw it coming in time and got down to save.
Rovers goalkeeper Oskar Jansson pulled off a top-drawer save from a Jason Byrne header on 71 minutes but wasn’t troubled four minutes later when Byrne got on the end of a John Mulroy cross on the right of the box but fired wide.
Livewire McCabe was involved in everything Rovers were creating at the other end and hit the crossbar with a tremendous shot on 79 minutes.
