Mary Reveley is by far and away the leading trainer at Sedgefield and is set for another profitable day at her local jumps course today. And punters should put the Reveley-trained Jowoody at the top of their lists as the six-year-old looks unmissable in the Stanley Racing Hurdle (Showcase Handicap).

Since joining the Reveley last year Jowoody has shown dramatic improvement, starting when winning at Market Rasen last month. She then went to Ayr to contest a three-mile handicap on heavy ground and galloped away from her rivals to beat Mr Mahdlo by six lengths.

And at Newcastle last Saturday Jowoody completed her hat-trick in emphatic fashion, forging clear to beat Vilprano by six lengths despite being eased down. She comes here without a penalty because the latter win was in a conditional jockeys' race.

Given that Jowoody has bottomless stamina, this extended three miles and three furlongs will be right up her street and it is hard to make a case against her.

Reveley also has good prospects with Sousse in the Tattersalls EBF Mares' Novices' Chase. The six-year-old has proved consistent and returned from three months off the course to finish four lengths second to Boyzontoowa at Catterick last time. She is worth siding with to beat Jessolle, who may represent poor value.

Those fancying a Reveley multiple bet could also consider Moving Arrow, Wynyard Lady and Brighter Shade.

On a difficult card at Ludlow, the safest bets are Rusk in the Oak Claiming Hurdle and Fern's Governor in division one of the Ash Novices' Hurdle.

Pericles, beaten a short-head by Alamein on his latest start at Lingfield, can go one better in the Columbus Classified Claiming Stakes.
