Glasgow Rangers' hopes of staying in Europe beyond Christmas were left hanging in the balance when Paris St Germain held them to a goalless first-leg draw at Ibrox last night.

The match also saw Fernando Ricksen sent off, and therefore suspended for the second leg, following a bust-up with Gabriel Heinze.

The best chance of the night fell to Rangers' Claudio Caniggia but his goal-bound effort was deflected over in the sixth minute.
