Bronte can break her duck at Rosommon

This evening's opening maiden at Roscommon is small beer for David Wachman in comparison to pondering a tilt at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby with Galileo Rock, but a win for Bronte would still be hugely valuable in its own way.

The 320,000 guineas purchase has had seven goes at breaking her duck but this looks her best opportunity yet for a paddocks-boosting win on the back of a second to Tropical Mist at Gowran last time. Wachman also introduces the newcomer Goddess Of Love, but Bronte can emulate Sunday's Curragh winner Royal Empress.

Wachman believes the best is yet to come from Galileo Rock who ran third to Ruler Of The World in the Epsom Derby. An Irish Derby attempt remains possible although the Curragh is just one of a number of options.

"He's come out of Epsom fine and has had an easy enough week. He's definitely in the picture and we'll make our minds up nearer the time. He'll make a high-class four-year-old I'd say," said the Co Tipperary trainer.
