King Rama won under Michael Kinane at the Curragh on Monday and now teams up with another champion at Wexford this evening when the top jumps rider, Ruby Walsh, switches to the Flat for John Kiely's horse.
The six-year-old's neck defeat of Balakan last Monday has earned him a 5lb penalty which takes his weight inside Walsh's range to 10st 5lb.
That's a big weight to carry, but Wexford is hardly the most testing of tracks and King Rama is clearly in very good form so a quick follow-up in the 13-furlong handicap looks on the cards.
At Downpatrick, Khudabad reverts to jumps for the handicap hurdle after a nice run on the level behind Clopf at Tipperary last month and could get the better of the Sligo winner, Mary From Murroe.
Elkras Wings won over flights at Down Royal on Monday and can continue his winning form in the mile and a half apprentice handicap.
