European CupNine games involving the three Irish provinces over the first four weekends of this season's Heineken European Cup will be shown live by Sky Sports as part of the television package announced by the satellite company and ERC yesterday.
The first of these nine games will see Munster open their campaign against NEC Harlequins at Thomond Park on Saturday, October 23rd, and among the London club's sizeable Irish contingent will be their summer signing from Munster, Jeremy Staunton.
In round two, Leinster's first home game, against Bath Rugby on Saturday, October 30th (kick-off 5.15), will also be televised live by Sky Sports, as will Munster's match away to the Neath/Swansea Ospreys in Neath the following day (kick-off 3 p.m.).
All three Irish provinces will be shown live in round three, when Munster play Castres away on Friday, December 3rd, with the Stade Francais-Ulster and Leinster-Bourgoin matches the following afternoon part of Sky's Saturday triple header.
And likewise, all three return fixtures the following weekend will be televised live as part of a package that will see six live matches each weekend.
