Power is pipped

Yesterday's stages of the Herald Sun Tour proved a rollercoaster ride for Ciaran Power

Yesterday's stages of the Herald Sun Tour proved a rollercoaster ride for Ciaran Power. In the morning's time trial, Power rode disappointingly to concede almost three minutes to Commonwealth Games champion and overall leader Eric Wohlberg, slipping to ninth overall.

However, in the evening criterium he bounced back, narrowly missing out on his first professional win when he was pipped to the line by street-race specialist Dave McCook of the USA. Today the riders face an undulating, 148 km stage to Ballarat. The tour ends on Sunday with a criterium stage in Geelong.
