Pegasus convince on two fronts

WOMENS HOCKEY: It might have been a quiet weekend in club hockey but for Pegasus it was business as usual

WOMENS HOCKEY: It might have been a quiet weekend in club hockey but for Pegasus it was business as usual. With their firsts trouncing Priorians 9-1 in the Ulster Shield - Heather Mullan scored four and Sarah Wilkinson three - while their seconds maintained the defence of the Irish Junior Cup by beating Wexford 3-0 in the second round. Joanne Campbell scored all three goals.

Shield holders Randalstown beat Ballymena, Katherine Elkin converting a stroke in the 49th minute for the only goal of the game, while a strike from Jenny Magill settled the meeting of Ards and Belfast Harlequins in Ards' favour.

A goal in each half from Fiona Sweeney and Sarah Scott against Clontarf saw Loreto II through to the semi-finals of the Jacqui Potter Leinster Cup. The draw for the last four, though, featured seven teams, with three of the quarter-finals still to be played.
