PARMA CLINCHED a place in next season's Champions' League by finishing the Italian season as runners up to Juventus with a 2-1 win over Verona.

Argentinian striker Hernan Crespo scored the winner in the 64th minute for the second placed club after Pierluigi Orlandini had given Verona a shock lead and Enrico Chiesa had equalised.

The result means Inter Milan, who needed to overcome a two point gap behind Parma on the last day of the Serie A season, go into the UEFA Cup.
