The winner of the recent Links Pro-Am at Co Louth, John Hutchinson, continued his excellent form at Royal Dublin on Saturday when he won both competitions. In partnership with Frank O'Dwyer, the one-handicapper had 22 points on the Loop One to edge out Ronan O'Donovan and John O'Donovan, while on Loop Two Hutchinson and O'Dwyer's score of 21 points was also good enough for the win from Paddy Walshe and Jack McCullough. Dennis F Nagle also ended the year in style at Kilrush golf club in the last of the Wednesday singles. Three handicap Nagle holed out with a six-iron at the 168-yard ninth hole during last week's competition.

In the final Christmas hamper competition, Ian Blake was a runaway winner on the Cashen course at Ballybunion. Blake had 43 points, five clear of Michael O'Hanlon. Jimmy O'Donnell's 43 points took the spoils at Dungarvan.
