From a field of 64 teams from the Leinster area, Old Conna came through to win the Boyne Cup when beating Enniscorthy in a thrilling final at Edenderry. The Old Conna team, under the management of Marie O'Neill and Joan O'Leary, was Della Meade, Mary McCann, Eilis Moroney, Maura O'Brien, Pat McGrath, Dolores Keller, Eileen O'Brien, Joan Casey, Anne Coyle and Ann McKenna. Breda Naughton, the lady captain, was delighted to accept the trophy.
