A short weekend of ESB Superleague fixtures has been made even shorter with the cancellation of tomorrow's meeting between UCD Marian and the ITP Saints. The Saints coach Joey Boylan has travelled with the Irish senior men's team to Croatia for the European championship semi-final game on the same night.

Just three league games will now go ahead as scheduled, with leaders Neptune away to Tolka Rovers, a team currently struggling on two wins from six games. There is also a mid-table clash between Limerick and Tralee Tigers, and the meeting of bottom-placed Killarney Lakers and the mid-placed UCC Demons.

The Irish senior team, meanwhile, experienced an uneasy trip to Croatia when their flight made an emergency return to Dublin Airport early yesterday morning. The team were unable to make their connection to Zagreb and will now travel via Munich today.

FIXTURES: Men's Superleague - tomorrow: Tolka Rovers v Neptune, 7.30; Limerick v Tralee Tigers, 7.30; Sunday - UCC Demons v Killarney Lakers, 3.15; Women's Superleague - tomorrow: University of Limerick v Tolka Rovers, 5.0; Killester v Wildcats, 6.0; Tipperary Talons v Drimnagh, 8.30; Sunday - St Paul's v Meteors, 2.30.
