Having seen his side deprived of a draw by Lausanne Sport's last-minute winner two weeks ago, Cork City boss, Derek Mountfield, insists that they can do enough at Turner's Cross tomorrow to make it to the first round proper of the UEFA Cup.

Mountfield still has a couple of injury worries but believes that Lausanne are beatable and plans to take the game to the visitors.

"It's important that we don't do anything silly over the first 20 minutes," said the City boss, with Shelbourne's early blunders against Rosenborg quite possibly prominent in his thoughts. "But we are the home side, so while we have to be careful not to be gung ho from the start, we will be positive, there's no doubt about that."

Pat Morley, who played as a lone striker in Lausanne with Patsy Freyne supporting from midfield, is suffering from a slight hamstring problem but hopes to start, almost certainly as one half of a two-man strike force. John Caulfield, who started up front with Morley in Saturday's win at Finn Harps, looks to be the most likely candidate for the other striker's shirt.

Defender Stephen Napier has the flu but like Morley he should be available for selection while Greg O'Halloran, who has missed City's first two league games through suspension, will probably return for Neal Horgan at right back.

Lausanne's Argentinean striker, Javier Mazzani, is the main concern for the visitors with a pulled stomach muscle.

Coach Pierre-Andre Schurmann could draft in teenage, summer signing, Pape Thaw, if the South American doesn't recover, but the more experienced man should make it. Definitely out, though, is midfielder Olivier Baudry, who was sent off in the first leg.

Bohemians have a slight doubt about their leading striker, Trevor Molloy, who is said to be still carrying the hamstring strain that forced him to come off 10 minutes from time during last weekend's 5-0 romp against Galway United.

Molloy is expected to play against Aberdeen at Tolka Park, though, as is Shaun Maher who is close to shaking off the back injury that has been bothering him over the past week or so.

Shamrock Rovers, meanwhile, have finally completed the signing of the Glenavon striker, Tony Grant, who will be eligible to play for Damien Richardson's side against Longford Town at Richmond Park on Friday evening.
