Fiona Healy from Headfort and Nuala Mahon from Greystones are the new ILGU Midland champions. In an exciting Senior final at Rosslare, Healy beat Evelyn Hearn of Waterford by one hole, while Mahon had to go to the 19th to see off the challenge of Ann Conway (New Ross) in the Junior final. Mahon's victory created its own piece of history in Greystones when she became the first member from the Wicklow club to capture the Midland title in its 61-year history.
