UCC led at the break, 0-4 to 0-3, despite having played against the wind. But the home side hit a purple patch at the start of the second half, scoring goals through Wayne Hennessy and Liam O'Lionain.

Extra time only produced two scores - both fittingly scored by UCC's Hayes.

Limerick 1-14 Tralee IT 1-5- Limerick - aided by seven points from Michael Crowley - had a very comfortable win at Newcastle West yesterday.

The students knew the game was up at the interval when, having played with the breeze, they trailed 0-7 to 0-4.
