CYCLING:Spain's Iban Mayo of the Saunier Duval team won the 19th stage of the Giro d'Italia from Treviso to Terme di Comano yesterday.

Mayo was part of the decisive attack on the rain-soaked stage and went clear alone on the final climb. Italy's Giovanni Visconti finished 43 seconds behind, with compatriot Marco Marzano third, over one minute adrift.

Italy's Danilo Di Luca of the Liquigas team finished three minutes behind Mayo, but retained the overall race lead. Ireland's Nicolas Roche finished in 91st position,

Today's stage is an individual time-trial, with the three-week race ending in Milan tomorrow.
