Lynam targets Coronation Stakes for Viztoria return

Viztoria missed last weekend's Irish 1,000 Guineas due to illness but trainer Eddie Lynam hasn't lowered his Group One sights with a filly who could line up next in Royal Ascot's Coronation Stakes.

The Athasi Stakes winner was a late withdrawal from the classic which was won by Just The Judge, a filly Viztoria is likely to eventually meet in the Coronation.

“She’ll have an easy week but her next entry will be the Coronation,” said Lynam yesterday. “We took her out of the Guineas because she was coughing but . . . hopefully we can get her to Ascot.”

Lynam also reported Royal Ascot will be next for sprinters Sole Power and Slade Power.

If quick ground has been a rarity for flat horses, then it has been even more so for jumpers. But Punchestown’s forecast “good to firm” going can pay off for trainer Jessica Harrington this evening.

Jetson has just his fourth start over fences in the second steeplechase.
