Dundalk Schools ... 3-10 St Peter's, Wexford ... 2-7: Shane Lennon was in sparkling form as the combined Dundalk Schools team raced into an early lead and then withstood a spirited fighback from St Peter's, Wexford, in Newbridge yesterday.
Lennon scored two goals in the opening half and Sean Fee added another as Dundalk reached the Leinster Colleges' SFC A final for the first time.
St Peter's were restricted to a single score from play before the interval and the winners led by 3-5 to 0-3 at half-time.
Despite trailing by 11 points, St Peter's made a determined start to the second half. Centre forward Aidan Murphy converted a free and this was followed by a tremendous goal by Neal McDonald.
Dundalk rallied with two points but their lead was cut to five points when Emmet Rice sent the ball through their defence and into the net.
