Munster SF semi-final/ Aherlow 1-6 The Nire 1-6:A point by centre back John Hennessy in the eighth minute of injury-time kept Tipperary champions Aherlow in the championship as they salvaged a draw against The Nire of Waterford in a thriller in Cashel yesterday.
The Waterford champions looked to be set for victory after a bright opening after which they led by 1-2 to no score. Connie Power got their goal in the eighth minute when he pounced on a defensive mistake, and they led 1-3 to 0-2 at half-time.
Immediately after the break Mark O'Shea netted for Aherlow and Barry Grogan then pointed the equaliser from a free. The Nire battled back to score three points through Pat Walsh, Brendan Wall and Diarmuid Wall.
In a tense finish, Derry Peters pointed for Aherlow and, with the game going into injury-time, Barry Grogan cut the lead to a single point.
When it seemed all was lost for Aherlow, Hennessy powered his way up the field and kicked a dramatic equaliser - sending the tie to a replay in Dungarvan next weekend.
