Lansdowne - 17 St Mary's College - 14: St Mary's suffered their fourth defeat in a row on Saturday at Lansdowne Road. Barry Lynn hit two penalties within three minutes as half-time approached, but then Lansdowne woke up and a great drive from a lineout gave prop, Colm McMahon, the chance to surge over.

Alan McGowan put Lansdowne ahead with a penalty after the break, but Barry Lynn replied with a penalty five minutes later. Lansdowne's pack then called the tune. McGowan landed three penalties to leave the home side 17-9 ahead.

The sin binning - five for Lansdowne and two for St Mary's - left Lansdowne with just 12 men at the final whistle, and, at 13 men St Mary's scrumhalf Colm McPhillips crossed for an try to salvage a bonus point for St Mary's.
