Munster MHC: An injury-time point by substitute Bobby Landers earned Waterford a deserved draw, 0-12 to 0-12, with All-Ireland champions Cork in the opening round of the Munster championship at Walsh Park, Waterford, last evening. Inspired by midfielder Michael Naughton, Cork led 0-6 to 0-4 at the interval. They looked to have snatched victory when full forward Brendan Barry converted a free on the stroke of normal time before Landers struck.

Meanwhile,Tipperary crushed a Kerry 0-6 to 5-20 at Austin Stack Park last night. It was a miss-match from the very outset and served little purpose for either team who had been improving at this level in recent years. Wing forward Pat Shortt was the leading scorer with 3-7.
