Knockbeg College 3-7 Malahide CS 2-6:PAUL KINGSTON, younger brother of Laois senior star Donie, was the key man as 2006 Hogan Cup winners Knockbeg College, Carlow, staged a tremendous second-half comeback to oust a plucky Malahide Community School in yesterday's Leinster Colleges' SFC A tie at Dr Cullen Park.
Playing at full forward, Kingston notched 1-5 as Knockbeg came from half-time arrears of six points to win by four.
Knockbeg were the dominant side almost throughout but were guilty of dreadful finishing in the opening half.
Goals in the eight minute and in first-half injury time from Pierce Gibney gave Malahide their advantage in a half where they availed of every scoring chance that came their way.
The constant pressure told on a fine Malahide defence in the second half as Knockbeg started to eat into their lead.
Eventually a smashing 42nd-minute goal from centre forward Dan Aylesbury levelled matters (2-2 to 1-5) and Aylesbury put his side ahead with a superb second goal when he was expertly fed by Kingston.
The third Knockbeg goal in the 56th minute from Kingston was the icing on the cake.
