All the excitement in the final of the Junior League was reserved for the final match when Ballybunion beat near neighbours Newcastlewest 3-2. In the deciding match, Carmel Carrell beat Ita Devine on the last green to capture the pennant. Managed by Ann O'Keeffe, Ballybunion's other winners were Margie Markan and Lucy McAuliffe, while other members of the panel - Katherine Tangney, Orla Boyle, Marie O'Callaghan and vice-captain Maureen Dillane - all played their part.
