Rugby Under-19s: Ireland rediscovered winning ways at the IRB/FIRA Under-19 World Championships at Creteil, Paris, yesterday with a nail-biting 28-22 victory over Scotland.

Ireland led 18-10 at the interval with tries from Brett McNamee and Ross McCarron with outhalf Barry Keeshan kicking two penalties and a conversion.

Ireland edged further ahead with a second try from McCarron, which Keeshan converted, but the Scots struck back in injury-time with a try to make it 25-22 to Ireland. Keeshan then had the final say with a penalty five minutes into injury-time.

Ireland next play either England or Wales to try to secure fifth place in the tournament; an excellent achievement were they to manage it. The final round of matches take place on Sunday at Stade Jean Bouin, home to Stade Francais.
