Informal gathering of former greats

All-Ireland weekend is always an opportunity for many to recall the past glories of success and near success

All-Ireland weekend is always an opportunity for many to recall the past glories of success and near success. Tomorrow night in Jury's Hotel in Dublin, Dermot O'Brien - part of Louth's All-Ireland victory in 1957 - will once again head up a reunion of former players from around the country in a "very casual" gathering to mark All-Ireland Sundays of the past.

Among those expected to attend are Kerry's Mick O'Connell and Galway's Sean Purcell - who obviously will have a special interest in the proceedings the following day. As always, it's an open invitation.
