EQUESTRIAN:  Princess Haya of Jordan has been elected president of the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) in the first contested election for the post

Princess Haya, who celebrates her 32nd birthday tomorrow, is the daughter of the late King Hussein of Jordan and his third wife, Queen Alia, who was killed in a helicopter crash when Princess Haya was three.

Princess Haya trained in Ireland with the late Paul Darragh, going on to represent Jordan at the 2000 Olympics.
