American Morgan Pressel enters the final round of the Ricoh Women's British Open with a one-shot lead.

Play began at 6.15am this morning after strong winds forced yesterday’s session to be suspended, ensuring many players will be playing two rounds today.

Pressel produced a 20-foot birdie putt on the 18th hole of the Old Course St Andrew’s to complete a one-under 71 and take sole possession of the third-round lead.

Stacy Lewis of the United States lies a shot behind in second with second-round leader Na Yeon Choi, Miki Saiki, Suzann Pettersen and Hee Young Park in joint third, two shots off Pressel.

Scotland’s Catriona Matthew ensured home interest by firing a four-under 68, moving her within three shots of the leader.

The fourth round began at 8am, while the third was still being completed.

“This is the third time we have done 36 holes in the last five Majors so we are all used to this. You’ve just got to grind it out,” Lewis said.
