It took five extra holes to decide the outcome of the Fred Daly trophy at Strandhill last week when Banbridge edged out Westport 3-2 in a thrilling All-Ireland final. All five matches went the distance with Noel Kavanagh taking the first point for Westport with a two holes win over Conor Doran. Richard Kilpatrick levelled when his par on the 19th was enough to see off Neill McNulty and Ciarain McAleavey edged the Ulster champions ahead when he beat Michael Kearns at the second tie hole.
