Henry Shefflin hit the back of the net to put new All-Ireland champions Kilkenny into the lead after just five minutes.

Goals from John Leahy and Brian O'Meara gave Tipperary an interval lead of 2-8 to 1-2 and O'Meara added another goal during the second half.
