The former Armagh boss was given a rapturous welcome from the crowd of about 5,000 who attended the Galway senior football semi-finals. “To be honest, I was flattered and embarrassed by the reception,” he said.It was Kernan’s first visit to Galway since he was appointed as successor to Liam Sammon.

NEW GALWAY football manager Joe Kernan said he was flattered by the welcome he received when he was introduced to the crowd in Tuam Stadium yesterday.
