Connacht MF Semi-finals/Galway 0-13 Sligo 1-8:Galway survived a late comeback by Sligo yesterday to set up a Connacht final meeting with All-Ireland champions Roscommon.

Galway laid the foundation for victory in the opening half when they had wind at their backs at Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon.

They led by 0-9 to 0-3 at the break, all nine of their first-half scores coming from play, with Michael Martyn and Jonathan Ryan kicking two points apiece.

Sligo reduced the margin to three points in the closing stages and equalised when Gavin Gilsenan fisted a goal with four minutes remaining.

But Galway finished strongly, and after Martyn pointed a free, John O'Brien ensured victory by fisting an insurance score in stoppage time.
