Munster Council announce €3.75m grant towards Páirc Uí Chaoimh redevelopment

Money is part of overall financial package of €6.25m in grants to counties

Munster Council has announced a grant package of €3.75 million for the redevelopment of Páirc Uí Chaoimh, with Work on the Cork stadium is due to begin later in the year.

The announcement was made at Thursday night’s meeting of the provincial council, which that also approved the introduction of a five-year budgetary framework and a financial package worth €2.5 million for Clare, Limerick, Kerry, Tipperary and Waterford.

Munster chair, Robert Frost said: "The Government and Central Council have provided generous grants towards this facility and now the Munster Council is doing the same."

He added, however, that these grants would be the last allocated to capital projects until 2020 when the five-year budget adopted last night would be reviewed. The club development scheme would continue though, he assured delegates.
