Waterford prove to have that little bit extra for Cork

Munster MHC semi-final: (AET) Waterford 3-19 Cork 1-20

A brilliant display in the second half of extra time saw Waterford advance to the final of the Munster MHC as they overcame Cork at Páirc Uí Rinn last night.

Trailing by a point at the halfway stage in the additional period, a quickfire blast of 1-2, the goal from DJ Foran, turned the game the Déise’s way, mirror the turnaround at half-time in normal time.

Patrick Curran, with a haul of 12 points, was outstanding for Waterford, while centre-back Austin Gleeson also shone, but Cork will rue the defeat, having had a commanding lead at one stage.

Set on their way by Michael Cahalane's goal after 40 seconds, Cork pushed 1-7 to 0-1 clear by the 22nd minute but a goal and a point by Colm Roche were followed by a beautiful Stephen Bennett goal got Waterford back into it.
