Limerick confirm TJ Ryan to stand down

The Limerick county board has confirmed that TJ Ryan will stand down as their hurling manager following Saturday's qualifier defeat at the hands of Clare.

In a statement released on Monday evening, the county board thanked “TJ for his commitment and time given over his three year term as Limerick senior hurling manager. We would also like to wish TJ and his family the very best into the future.”

Speaking immediately after the 0-19 to 0-15 reverse on Saturday evening, Reid told reporters that he had taken the Limerick team “as far as I could”.

“I’ve given it absolutely everything. I genuinely have. I will look back and have thoroughly enjoyed it. I am very grateful for the people who gave me the opportunity, I’ve nothing but pride in the guys who played for me and the guys who worked with me.

“With the time involved maybe they could do with a new voice. . . as I said to you, what I have given three years time wise, it just wasn’t good enough.

“In life, looking back, most of the regrets people have is for the thing they didn’t do. I had a go.”
