Jason Flynn gets ‘the all-clear’ for Galway return

Forward broke his finger after the 13-point victory over Dublin

Jason Flynn looks set to return for the Galway hurlers in time for their Leinster final against Kilkenny on July 5th.

The Tribesmen were without the corner forward in their impressive dismissal of Laois in the provincial semi-final as he suffered a broken finger following the 13-point win over Dublin at the start of June.

“It’s fine again,” says Flynn who played no part in the 3-28 to 1-14 win over Laois.

“ I didn’t train, I’m only going back training this weekend. It happened in training and with the Laois game it was unfortunate, but look, it would have been worse. Back training this weekend.

The Tommy Larkins club man had scored 0-9, seven of which from frees, in the Dublin replay win. He also slotted two points from play in the drawn game a week earlier.

Despite losing out on the 70 minutes against Laois, Flynn says he’s feeling good having maintained his fitness during the lay-off.

“I have the all-clear and I’m looking forward to the week ahead. We’ve been training all year for this week.

"It was great to be able to do the fitness work. I was able to work on my fitness and speed, which was great. It could have been a lot worse - look at Pauric Mahony there in Waterford. He's gone for the season, I'm lucky because mine was only short-term thing."
