Beaten provincial semi-finalists Dublin and Cork will resume their hurling championship campaigns with a Semple Stadium qualifier on Saturday.
The Thurles venue will host the meeting of Mattie Kenny’s men, beaten by Kilkenny despite a dramatic Croke Park comeback last weekend, and Cork who were dumped out of Munster by Waterford.
Clare and Laois will travel to Nowlan Park for the other Round 1 qualifier while All-Ireland holders Tipperary and Wexford have received byes to Round 2.
It means that Tipp, soundly defeated by Limerick on Sunday, have to win two games to reach the All-Ireland semi-finals, one more than Limerick.
Dublin will take most momentum into Saturday’s qualifier ties after outscoring Kilkenny by 2-15 to 0-7 in the second-half of last Saturday’s Leinster semi-final, coming up a point short in the end.
The Dublin-Cork encounter will be broadcast by Sky Sports Mix with the same channel carrying Dublin’s Leinster SFC opener against Westmeath from Portlaoise at 6.15pm. The Clare-Laois game will be available on the GAAGO facility.
