Central Council of the GAA will vote on adopting a new format of next year’s national hurling league on November 16th.

“Nobody in the last 30 years has come up with a formula for the national hurling league. You’re at us every year about it, every time it starts, ‘why are you tinkering with it?’ The reason we’re tinkering with is because we’re trying to find a formula and we haven’t found one up to now.”

A straight majority vote is all that’s required for the new structure to be adopted.

O’Neill was speaking at the announcement that Liberty Insurance will be the title sponsor of the GAA’s national games development conference entitled, “Inspiring Children: fostering a love of Gaelic games,” which will take place in Croke Park on January 11th and 12th next year.
