Brian Cody to stay on as Kilkenny manager

James Stephens man has led county to 10 All-Ireland titles

The Kilkenny senior hurlers will once again be led by Brian Cody in their quest to retain the Liam MacCarthy Cup in 2015.

The news was confirmed by Kilkenny County Board this evening after Cody agreed to stay on at the helm.

The James Stephens man, who guided the county to 10 senior hurling All-Ireland titles, was first appointed in the winter of 1998. In that time he has also masterminded nine National Hurling League titles, 13 Leinster championships and six Walsh Cups.

It was also announced that selectors Michael Dempsey, James McGarry and Derek Lyng would form the backroom team for next year. Dempsey has been a selector with Cody since 2003. Lyng and McGarry, who both played under Cody, became selectors last year.
