O’Connor passed fit in unchanged Mayo side

Cillian O’Connor has proved his fitness and is named in an unchanged Mayo side for this Sunday’s All-Ireland Senior Football Final against Dublin.

O’Connor suffered a dislocated shoulder in the semi-final victory over Tyrone on August 25th but played in a full match between the Mayo panel last weekend.

After showing ill effects from the game, O'Connor is named by manager James Horan in Mayo's full-forward line alongside Alan Freeman and skipper Andy Moran.

O’Connor was the hero of Mayo’s quarter-final victory over defending champions Donegal after scoring a hat-trick of goals. He lasted just 11 minutes of the semi-final win over Tyrone before going off with a dislocated shoulder, an injury that has caused him problems in recent years.

Meanwhile, Dublin City Council will provide a public screen at Smithfield Plaza where the game will be shown live on Sunday.

Pre-match entertainment will begin at 1.15pm, with the game being shown live on a 48 square metre screen at 3.30pm.

The family-friendly event will be alcohol-free and there is no charge, with Dublin City Council recommending that people use public transport to travel to the Dublin 7 venue, which has its own Luas stop.
