McManamon ruled out of Dublin clash against Westmeath

Forward joins Alan Brogan on the sidelines ahead of Championship opener

Dublin forward Kevin McManamon has been ruled out of Dublin’s opening Leinster SFC game against Westmeath at Croke Park on Saturday night with a hamstring injury.

If Jim Gavin’s side win, the St Jude’s player will also face a race against time to make the semi-final against either Kildare or Offaly on June 30th.

McManamon replaced Bryan Cullen in the second half of the National Football League Final at the end of April and joins Alan Brogan on the sidelines for the early stages of the Dublin campaign.

Apart from the attacking duo, Gavin will pick from a full squad for the game, with Eoghan O'Gara and Cormac Costello having both returned to training.
