Kingston helps Cork minors book Munster final place against Kerry

Cork advanced to a Munster minor football final meeting with Kerry after seeing off Waterford in Dungarvan – a county that have never beaten their neighbours at this grade.

At the break, Cork led by 1-6 to 0-4, having produced a dominant opening quarter. Within seven minutes they were 1-2 to the good without reply, with Sean O’Donoghue firing home a goal from 15 yards.

The visitors hit seven second -half points without reply with corner-forward Shane Kingston picking off some superb scores. And while Jack Mullaney rifled home a goal for Waterford on the brink of full-time, a strong Cork side were not to be denied.
